Interview with BOOM co-founder Jacopo Benedetti

Launched in early 2018, Milano-based BOOM Image Studio is a Prop Tech marketplace connecting professional photographers with businesses worldwide. We caught up with its co-founder Jacopo Benedetti at the recent Property Portal Watch Conference in Madrid 2018.
When asked what prompted the conception of BOOM Image Studio, Benedetti commented: “When we buy a meal or a house we are first attracted buy by their image representation – usually a photograph. So having a quality image is critical and crucial for a lot of all companies which who want to boost their online sales."

Although Benedetti’s background as a biomedical engineer has little to do with photography, he has always been fascinated by the eyes and the science of the human brain, which come together in Artificial Intelligence and the development of BOOM Image Studio software. Benedetti said, “People process visual information better than written and its images connect best with us on an emotional level.”
Benedetti added that BOOM Image Studio understood that professional photography was essential for online marketing and has built a technology platform which connects top photographers to businesses including as property portals, major franchise groups, and marketplaces.
“Our business is based on three pillars,” said Benedetti. “The first is a community of very talented photographers, whom we don’t only use for creating content, but we also offer them support, webinars, and lessons to enhance their skills.
“Our second pillar is a two-sided platform where companies can book photoshoots from a database of qualified photographers and our final pillar is our A.I. software where photographers can edit photos automatically, saving them a great deal of time in post-production after the photoshoot.”
Simon Baker, the Founder of the Property Portal Watch Conference was impressed by the business being built by Jacopo and the team at BOOM Image Studios.  “I like the way they are positioning themselves as the Uber, Lyft or Cabify of the professional photography industry. They are generating business for photographers and providing them with high-quality SaaS tools that make it very easy for them to manage the administrative side of the photography business.”
While quite young, BOOM Image Studio is quickly gaining traction. “When we began introducing our product to our clients, we showed them our capabilities, and they really appreciated the potential of the beautiful photography which we provide for their businesses. Once they started working with us, they simply could not get enough of our photos, and that’s great,” said Benedetti.
Benedetti highlights Airbnb uses stunning imagery to promote as a great example of a company which properties around the globe and Uber Eats that uses appealing photos to entice customers to order food from local restaurants.

Band of Magicians | REVIEW

As if they stepped out of a fashion catalogue, the quartet who compose  Band of Magicians  – Justin Flom, Justin Willman, Nate Staniforth  and  James Galea  – look, talk and act completely different than any other visual illusionists out there.
